Welcome to the universe of Asian Dub Foundation, a mixture of dub, hip-hop, dancehall, drum’n’bass, ragga and rock. This group, who are pioneers of British alternative electronic music, formed in 1993 following the broadcast of the documentary Identical Beat that was filmed in Farringdon Community Music House in London. This is a place where workshops were put together to teach children of Asian origin the basics of music technology. Just as influenced by punk as Bengali folk songs, Asian Dub Foundation quickly attracted an impressive fan base, not just amongst clubbers but also among antiracist movements that applauded the political standpoint of the group. Still just as active, ADF have just released a new album, “History of Now”, at the beginning of 2011, containing percussive tracks that leaves us imagining an explosive tour.
