GOOSE ( - BE)
Formed in 2000 by Mickael Karkousse, Dave Martijn, Tom Coghe and Bert Libeert, Goose is without contest the Belgian electro sensation of recent years. Their first album and master stroke, “Bring it On”, released on Fatboy Slim’s label (Skint), is a frenzied invitation to dance. Following in the footsteps of 2 Many dj’s, justice and LCD Soundsystem, our little Belgian friends have declared that rock and electro can go hand-in-hand on the dance floor. Their preferred territory is obviously on stage where they can express their music with the most freedom. Four years after this enormous success, Goose are finally back with a second opus called “Synrise”. Here they have channelled their energy into an organic album which pays tribute to Giorgio Moroder, Underworld and Tangerine Dream. But above all, the group have set about reinventing themselves through adventurous tracks like “Hunt” and “Words”, almost new-wave. Their electro rock peppered with synth beats remains contagious which proves that the standard of their appearances this year will be even higher. A force to be reckoned with!
