HOQUETS ( - BE)
R’n’Belgium, have you heard of it? Well you can discover this new genre with the Franco-American-Belgian trio, Hoquets. With instruments made from salvaged materials (wood, broken strings, white iron boxes,…) and influenced by Congotronics artists, this funny, friendly and original group sing Belgium. “Each one of the songs is dedicated to one or other national oddity or a big moment in Belgian history, like the town Bar-le-Duc, the Battle of Waterloo, (con)federalism, multilinguism, the pioneers of Belgian rap. The Orval Abbey and its beer or even the famous Dinant biscuit”, explains the group. After their alternative folk culinary hit, “Couque de Dinant”, their first album entitled “Belgotronics” was released on 04 April on the Crammed label.
